Japanese fashion design house Yohji Yamamoto is further expanding its presence in Taiwan with the launch of its first physical store in the territory.
Taking over a generous space on the first floor of Breeze Center in Taipei, the store is home to a selection of items from three fashion lines – Yohji Yamamoto, Yohji Yamamoto Pour Homme, and Discord Yohji Yamamoto.
The store design follows the brand’s signature theme elsewhere, expressing “the monochrome world of Yohji Yamamoto”.
The Tokyo-headquartered company operates more than 90 stores in its home market under eight brands. Yohji Yamamoto made its Greater China debut at Hong Kong’s Musea in 2019. The brand is reported to plan to open a new location in New York this September.
Yohji Yamamoto, 79, is a Japanese fashion designer based in Tokyo and Paris. He is renowned for his avant-garde tailoring which features strong Japanese design influence.
