Wendy’s has appointed Robert D ‘Bob’ Wright as its new president and CEO, effective immediately. Wright will also join the fast-food chain’s board.
Wright transitions to the role from Potbelly Corporation, where he held executive positions as president, CEO, and board member.
His executive background includes previous senior leadership positions at Wendy’s, where he formerly worked as EVP and COO, alongside prior roles at Charleys Philly Steaks, Checkers Drive-In Restaurants, and Domino’s Pizza.
In his new role, Wright will oversee corporate operations, franchise relations, and the brand’s long-term growth strategy.
As part of the leadership transition, Ken Cook will resume his full-time duties as CFO. Cook held an interim CEO position during which time he initiated ‘Project Fresh’ – a corporate strategy designed to stabilize and restructure the brand’s core business operations.
Suzie Thuerk, the company’s CAO, will also return to her standard responsibilities after managing an expanded role during the transition period.
