Weis Markets has promoted Bob Gleeson to COO from SVP of merchandising and marketing.
Gleeson joined Weis Markets in 2018 and was promoted to VP of fresh merchandising in July 2019.
Before that, he worked in various leadership roles including as division president at Supervalu.
In his new role, Gleeson will continue to report to Weis Markets chairman, president, and CEO Jonathan H Weis.
Founded in 1912, Weis Markets now has 198 stores across Pennsylvania, Maryland, Delaware, New Jersey, New York, West Virginia and Virginia.
Last November, the company said its net sales for the 13 weeks ended September 28 increased 2.2 per cent year-on-year to $1.186 billion, attributed to its investment in loyalty and low-price programs.
