Walmart trials pet services centre concept in Georgia

Walmart has opened its first pet services complex in Dallas, Georgia – trialling a concept offering veterinary treatment and grooming, among other services.

Besides normal veterinary treatment (including vaccines, wellness checkups, and minor medical services), and grooming (baths, nail trims, teeth cleaning, ear cleaning, and basic hair trims), the store features a self-serve dog wash.

According to the brand, all treatments will be offered in partnership with PetIQ, undertaken by qualified veterinary and grooming professionals.

“While the Walmart Pet Services center is a key next step in how we’re continuing to innovate within the category and bring industry-leading solutions to our customers,” said Kaitlyn Shadiow, VP of merchandising, pets, at Walmart US.

We’re also evolving our assortment to bring affordable, on-trend offerings to our pet customers across the country.”

Shadiow said piloting the Walmart Pet Services centre in the same store where Walmart built its first Walmart Health Centre in 2019 was a natural move. Customers will now be able to simply access their family’s fundamental health care solutions in one central spot, including their furry friends’ health care needs.
