Von Maur Department Stores opened its 39th store at the Fargo West Acres Mall last Saturday, its first location in North Dakota.
The 90,000sqft store is the second investment at West Acres Mall, the first being the Dry Goods store, a contemporary women’s apparel and accessories retailer.
The company will employ 100 full-time and part-time staff members at its North Dakota location.
“Sharing similar Midwestern roots, we appreciate the sense of community and culture that defines Fargo and trust that our wide selection of premium brands and exceptional service will appeal to shoppers across the region,” said Jim von Maur, president and fourth-generation leader of Von Maur Department Stores.
The opening saw shoppers greeted with red roses, chocolates, contests and giveaways with special offerings from brands like Patricia Nash Designs and Hammitt.
Von Maur has also opened its first Pennsylvania location at South Hills Village in Pittsburgh and the company is currently undertaking a $100 million renovation of all its stores over the coming years.
