Luxury fashion brand Vera Wang is expanding its ready-to-wear (RTW) business across Europe and the UK through a new partnership between its owner, WHP Global, and Batra Group.
The agreement marks Vera Wang’s first major licensing deal since WHP Global acquired the brand earlier this year.
Yehuda Shidman, founder, chairman, and CEO of WHP Global, said the partnership supports the company’s strategy to expand the brand globally.
“This strategy includes geographic expansion, media initiatives, and the introduction of hospitality projects, all centred around the powerful brand that Vera Wang built,” Shidman said.
Batra Group’s luxury division in London will oversee the design, development, production, and distribution of the RTW collection.
Founder and designer Vera Wang said the move represents a new chapter for the brand and will follow her “nonchalant” design approach featuring minimalist silhouettes and layering.
“This is an entirely new experience for Vera Wang, as we have never before offered a product at this price point, for this segment of the market, or at this level of geographic penetration,” she said.
Vera Wang’s RTW collection will launch in premium department stores, specialty boutiques, and flagship stores across Europe.
Founded in New York in 1990, the Vera Wang brand specializes in high-end bridal gowns and luxury evening wear. Its namesake founder spent two decades at Vogue before joining Ralph Lauren as design director for women’s accessories.
