Urban Story Ventures has unveiled plans for a $350 million retail and residential district at the Bend in Chattanooga, Tennessee, adding to a growing investment pipeline for the mixed-use riverfront development.
The new precinct will combine retail, restaurants, office space and residential accommodation, with construction expected to begin next year and completion targeted for autumn 2028, subject to preleasing.
Urban Story Ventures has partnered with retail and mixed-use specialist Hill Partners on the project, while Perkins&Will will lead the master planning and architectural design.
The development is designed as a walkable, open-air destination and will form part of The Bend, a more than 120-acre redevelopment project on Chattanooga’s riverfront. The wider scheme is planned to incorporate residential, office, dining, entertainment and public spaces.
While no retailers have yet been named, Urban Story Ventures said it is in discussions with prospective tenants across categories, including food and beverage, home, lifestyle, retail and entertainment.
The $350 million district will sit alongside a previously announced $300 million amphitheater project, bringing total announced investment at The Bend to $650 million.
Urban Story Ventures estimates that the new district could support more than 1000 jobs and generate over $100 million in gross sales, highlighting the scale of the commercial opportunity associated with the redevelopment.
