Kim Kardashian’s shapewear label Skims will open its first standalone store in the UK next year, securing a 10-year lease on London’s Regent Street with The Crown Estate.
The 12,000sqft space has been mostly vacant since fashion retailer Ted Baker entered administration last year, according to Fashion Network.
Neighbouring retailers on the high-profile strip include Liberty, Apple, Onitsuka Tiger, Cos, & Other Stories, and Canada Goose.
Jens Grede, CEO and co-founder of Skims, told The Times that the launch in London marks a pivotal step in the brand’s global expansion.
“This location enables us to build a more personal relationship with our UK customers,” Grede said. “It allows us to deliver the full Skims experience in a world-class retail destination, with authenticity and vision at the heart of our brand.”
Founded in 2019, Skims was valued at US$4 billion following a seed funding round last year. Until now, its UK presence has been limited to shop-in-shops at Harrods, Selfridges and End Clothing.
The company is also accelerating its domestic expansion, having opened its first West Coast flagship in Los Angeles last month.
