Shake Shack sales surge on network expansion

Shake Shack‘s attributable net income increased as it opened more stores in the second quarter –  surging 39.1 per cent year over year to $9.7 million. Revenue rose 16.4 per cent to $316.5 million.

Shack sales jumped 16.7 per cent to $305.5 million while licensing revenue grew 10.2 per cent to $11 million.

System-wide sales went up 13.5 per cent to $483.7 million while same-Shack sales expanded 4 per cent.

During the quarter, Shake Shack opened 12 new company-operated Shacks including three drive-thrus and 11 new licensed Shacks.
