Ross Stores plans to add approximately 90 stores to its network this fiscal year, with 19 locations already opened in March.

The 90 new stores will include 80 Ross Dress for Less and 10 DD’s Discounts. The company has already opened 16 Ross Dress for Less and three DD’s Discounts locations in 14 states this month.

“For Ross, we expanded our presence in the newer markets of Connecticut, Minnesota, New Jersey, and New York, while DD’s growth primarily focused on existing markets of California, Georgia, and Texas,” said Richard Lietz, EVP of property development.

The company now operates 2205 Ross Dress for Less and DD’s Discounts locations across 44 states, the District of Columbia, and Guam.

Over the long term, it aims to grow Ross to 2900 locations and DD’s to 700 stores.

Early last month, James Conroy became the new CEO of Ross Stores, succeeding Barbara Rentler.
