Clothing retailer Primark will launch its first brick-and-mortar location at Arundel Mills in Hanover, Maryland on September 7.

The store will span 36,000sqft and offers the latest fashion trends and essentials for the whole family as well as homewares and beauty.

Customers can access some collaborations with international names including Barbie The Movie, Disney, NBA and Netflix.

“It has been a difficult few years for American families, and in this challenging economic environment, it has been extremely rewarding to introduce more communities to Primark’s unique combination of fashion and affordability as we expand in the US,” said Kevin Tulip, president of Primark US.

“I hope that shoppers in the DMV region will visit us and find a new go-to destination for this season’s styles at affordable prices that will delight even the most price-conscious shoppers.”

This expansion brings Primark to 430 stores worldwide, with 21 in the US, offering “Primania” to more Mid-Atlantic shoppers. The store is also apparently a component of the brand’s US development strategy, with another DMV branch slated to debut next year at Tyson’s Corner Centre in Northern Virginia.

Founded in Ireland in 1969 under the Penneys brand, Primark operates across 16 countries in Europe as well as the US. Primark currently operates more than 400 stores worldwide and is expanding into new and existing territories, with the goal of reaching 530 outlets by the end of 2026, including the upcoming new market of Hungary.
