VF Corporation has completed the sale of Dickies to New York-based brand management firm Bluestar Alliance for $600 million.

The deal, first announced in September, is part of VF’s plan to reduce debt and refocus on its core lifestyle and outdoor labels, including The North Face, Vans, and Timberland.

Bluestar Alliance, which manages a portfolio of consumer and lifestyle brands across fashion, home, and entertainment, will now oversee Dickies’ next phase of growth.

“As I’ve said before, we continuously evaluate our portfolio and this transaction will enable us to bring our net debt level down and will be accretive to our growth on a pro-forma basis,” said Bracken Darrell, president and CEO of VF Corporation.

The transaction closed following customary regulatory and financial adjustments.

Founded in 1922, Dickies evolved from a traditional workwear manufacturer into a global brand with distribution in 55 countries.
