Macy’s has named Massimo (Max) Magni as its new chief customer and digital officer, effective August 21.

In his new role, Magni will be responsible for Macy’s digital business’s long-term vision and growth, aligned with strategies that leverage data and analytics to enhance the customer’s journey across touchpoints.

These include the company’s e-commerce sites, mobile apps, marketplace, loyalty, and gift registry programs across Macy’s and Bloomingdale’s digital platforms.

With extensive experience working across iconic brands in apparel, beauty, consumer goods, hospitality, and grocery, Max brings best-in-class e-commerce/digital transformation practices to Macy’s.

Before joining Macy’s, he was a 20-year veteran of McKinsey and Company and, most recently, a senior partner co-leading its Next Commerce and global leader of the consumer growth practices that help clients develop customer-centric and data-driven solutions to drive profitable and sustainable growth.

Tony Spring, President and CEO-elect of Macy’s, said Magni brings an innovative, customer-led mindset to the team that will help advance the company’s digital business.

“His passion for and experience with portfolio optimisation, e-commerce and digital analytics transformation makes him a great fit for the organisation,” he added.
