The Lycra Company has appointed Hua Du as its new CEO, succeeding Dean Williams, who was the company’s interim CEO during the transition and will continue in his permanent role as CFO.
Du brings three decades of senior leadership experience in the specialty chemical and biotechnology sectors.
Most recently, he led the Grobest Group, a private equity-backed animal nutrition firm, through an operational turnaround and subsequent sale.
His previous roles include executive positions at Rhodia and management positions overseeing electronic materials operations across Asia for Rohm and Haas.
As CEO, Du will guide the company’s commercial strategy, driving product innovation and expanding market reach within its global apparel and personal care portfolios.
Bruce Rubin, executive chairman, said that Du’s expertise in operational leadership, technical development, and international account management will position the organisation to achieve its strategic goals.
