Maine-based outdoor apparel brand LL Bean will open its first two locations in Quebec as part of its Canadian expansion plans.

The stores will be located in Saint-Bruno-de-Montarville and Boisbriand, and will be complemented by a French-language online platform for customers in Quebec and beyond Canada.

The Saint-Bruno-de-Montarville store, located at CF Promenades St-Bruno, will open on August 25 with 18,000sqft of floor area. Meanwhile, the Boisbriand property, in the centre of the Faubourg, will launch its 11,500sqft retail space on September 29. These two additional locations will give the corporation a coast-to-coast presence in Canada.

“We are excited to reach new outdoor enthusiasts via our retail presence and our new French language website,” said Stephen Smith, president and CEO of LL Bean.

With 13 stores in Canada operated by Canadian licensing partner Jaytex Group, LL Bean will offer travel, hiking and camping equipment, footwear, and home and pet products, in addition to apparel and outerwear.

LL Bean, founded in Maine in 1912, inaugurated its main facility in Freeport in 2020. Earlier this year, the company announced plans to renovate the space, with a reported investment of more than $50 million.
