Jack in the Box has tapped Shannon McKinney as its senior VP and chief operating officer, rejoining the company’s executive leadership team.
In his new role, McKinney will report to Ryan Ostrom, chief customer and digital officer at Jack in the Box, and will lead the brand’s operations team with a focus on strengthening system-wide execution and operational excellence.
“Those who have worked with Shannon in the past describe him as a hands-on leader who listens first, positively leads and influences with purpose, and empowers his team, which are qualities that make him a strong fit for our culture and the reason why we are excited to have him back,” said Ostrom.
McKinney has more than 25 years of operational experience, and his career spans a range of notable brands, including Taco Bell, Outback Steakhouse, Crispers and Bloomin’ Brands.
He first joined Jack in the Box in 2019 as VP of operations and brand performance, before moving to Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen, where he most recently served as regional VP of operations for Popeyes America.
Last month, Jack in the Box recorded a net loss of $142 million in the quarter ended April 13, compared to a net income of $25 million in the prior-year period.
