Japanese fashion brand Issey Miyake is set to open a new flagship store in New York City, marking a significant upgrade in both scale and concept for its US retail presence.
The Japanese label will officially open the doors to its new space at New York Life Building, 45 Madison Avenue, on May 8, relocating from its longstanding Tribeca flagship.
Spanning approximately 13,000sqft across two levels, the flagship is among the largest stores in the company’s international network.
A key feature of the store is Mado, a new in-store gallery concept marking the brand’s first permanent cultural exhibition space outside Japan. The gallery is expected to host a rotating program of installations and collaborations, reinforcing the company’s longstanding intersection of fashion, art and technology.
