Giorgio Armani has appointed Matteo Mascazzini as CEO for the Americas, marking a leadership change across one of the luxury group’s key global regions.

Mascazzini succeeds Izumi Sasano, who will return to Japan to take on a new role within the Armani Group.

The executive brings close to three decades of experience in the luxury fashion industry. Most recently, he served as president of Gucci EMEA.

Starting his career at Versace, Mascazzini previously held several senior leadership roles at Armani Group, including CEO in Australia, COO for the US, and CFO in Japan.

The appointment is reportedly part of Giorgio Armani’s plan to accelerate its continued development in the Americas, one of its key markets.

In October, Giorgio Armani also appointed deputy managing director Giuseppe Marsocci as CEO.
