American Chinese restaurant brand Panda Express is opening its first Philippines outlet in SM Megamall.

The Panda Express Philippines, a partnership with local industry giant Jollibee Foods Corps, plans to open outlets across the country. Plans for the brand have been underway since Jollibee established the partnership last year, although no launch date for the SM Mall outlet has yet been released to the public.

“Panda Express has successfully popularised American Chinese cuisine through authentic Chinese recipes adapted to global tastes,” read a statement by the mall’s operator, “setting the brand up as the largest Asian dining concept in the US and the largest American Chinese concept in the world.”

Panda Express, which operates in more than 2000 locations globally, is reported to have sold more than 90 million pounds of its most popular chicken dish.
