Darren Leon McKoy has stepped down as global creative director of Dr Martens after working at the footwear brand for 10 years.
McKoy joined the company in 2015 as global category manager for footwear and has been global creative director since November 2021.
Prior to Dr Martens, he held several product manager and category manager roles at VF Corp, Adidas and Asics.
“After much thought, I decided early last year to step away and embrace new creative opportunities and challenges,” McKoy wrote on LinkedIn.
“It wasn’t an easy decision, as you can imagine, but I feel like the time is right to close out this amazing chapter and begin writing the next,” he added.
Dr Martens swung to a loss for the fiscal first half ended September 30 as its sales fell 18 per cent to $406 million.
Despite the declines, the company reduced its debt by 27 per cent to $436.94 million.
The brand’s incoming CEO Ije Nwokorie will take the helm on January 6, replacing Kenny Wilson.
