Culture Kings parent AKA Brands boosts sales and reduces loss

American retailer AKA Brands has reported solid first-quarter growth across all markets. 

The company’s portfolio includes Culture Kings, Petal & Pup, Mnml and Princess Polly. 

AKA Brands recorded a 10.1 per cent increase in net sales to $128.7 million compared to $116.8 million during the same period last year. 

AKA Brands also noted a 6 per cent increase in net sales across Australia and New Zealand.

Its net loss was at $8.4 million, down from $8.9 million in the first quarter of last year, with an adjusted EBITDA of $2.7 million year on year, up from $0.9 million.

Its gross margin increased from 56.2 per cent to 57.2 per cent, with its cash and cash equivalents rising to $26.7 million. 

AKA Brands expects to see its net sales between $600 and $610 million and an adjusted EBITDA between $24 million and $27.5 million over the remainder of this year.
