Costco Wholesale is reportedly set to launch its first standalone gas station, marking a notable departure from its usual model of pairing fuel stations with warehouse stores.

The new site in Mission Viejo will span 17,234sqft and is expected to open in June.

It will feature 40 pumps dedicated to serving members, making it the largest fuel-only facility in the company’s network.

Breaking from its typical setup, this California location will not include a warehouse or any retail space, focusing exclusively on fuel services.

In addition, the company is planning a second location in Hawaii, scheduled to open in Honolulu next year.
