Footwear company Birkenstock is expanding its footprint in the US with the expansion into Boston, marking the brand’s seventh company-owned retail store in the market.

The Newbury Street boutique showcases the brand’s materials of cork, felt, and leather, emphasising quality and craftsmanship.

The Boston location offers a range of products for women, men and kids, including sandals, clogs, sneakers, shoes, boots, and socks. It also provides the new Birkenstock Care Essentials range, which is an extension into the foot care category.

There are also Bopis (buy online, pick up in-store) and Boris (buy online, return in-store) services, which attempt to improve customers’ experiences via digital integration.

“Opening our seventh retail store in the namesake city of our iconic Boston clog is a particularly special moment for the brand,” said David Kahan, president of Birkenstock Americas.

“Boston’s rich history and contemporary energy perfectly align with Birkenstock’s values of tradition and innovation.”

Birkenstock has stores in New York City, Brooklyn, Venice Beach, Miami, Marin County, and Austin.

Last year, the German sandal maker filed for an initial public offering (IPO) in the US, following the footsteps of British chipmaker Arm.
