Outdoor brand Arc’teryx has opened a store on Abbot Kinney Boulevard in Venice, Los Angeles, marking its first retail concept dedicated to climbing.

Located at 1116 Abbot Kinney Boulevard, the site combines retail with facilities and programming aimed at the local climbing community. It is the brand’s fourth location in Los Angeles and fifth in Southern California.

The store offers Arc’teryx climbing apparel and equipment, as well as third-party climbing products. It also features an indoor climbing wall, a lounge stocked with climbing publications and guidebooks, and an outdoor patio.

“At Arc’teryx, climbing is part of our DNA and community has always been core to how we think about retail. The shared connection we have to climb with the Los Angeles community was the catalyst for the creation of this new store concept,” said Delaney Schweitzer, GM Arc’teryx, North America.

“With Abbot Kinney, we’re creating a new expression of that climbing heritage for Los Angeles, preserving the character of an existing building while designing a flexible space that can move between retail, climbing and community programming.”

The climbing wall was developed with Long Beach Rising, which will manage route and hold changes and participate in programming at the store. Arc’teryx is also working with local climbing organisation ABA on community initiatives.

The location will also host climbing workshops, film screenings and talks.
