Harry Adjimi, the CEO of One Step Up, has led a group of private investors to acquire women’s fashion brand The Limited.
The acquisition marks the end of private equity ownership under Sycamore Partners, which took the brand on following its retail bankruptcy in 2017. Other lead investors in the group have been identified as Eli Yedid and Ames Tebele.
Founded in 1963 by retail magnate Leslie Wexner, The Limited now joins a group of flagship American fashion brands including New York & Company, Fashion to Figure and Hard Tail.
“The Limited is a remarkable American brand with an extraordinary history. We intend to honor what made it special and build its next chapter,” Adjimi said.
The investors plan to revive The Limited’s designs, quality and accessibility, while gearing it more toward the modern consumer. It expects to share more details during the coming months.
Adjimi has built consistent success on reviving heritage retailers with a recognised brand. With his turnaround of New York & Company, Adjimi took on a company with many underperforming mall stores and transitioned it into a digital-first retailer that wholesales its products to department stores.
