Yum! Brands’ COO and chief people & culture officer, Tracy Skeans, is retiring after 25 years with the organization.

Skeans will continue to fulfill her executive responsibilities for the remainder of this year.

After stepping down from her dual roles, she will transition to an advisory position to support the leadership transition until early 2028.

Skeans joined Yum! Brands in 2000 as a finance analyst. Over her 25-year tenure, she has held various management positions, including chief people officer for Pizza Hut US, global chief people officer, and president of Pizza Hut International.

In 2016, she joined the corporate executive leadership team as chief transformation & people officer before taking on her current title of COO.

“Over a remarkable 25-year career at Yum!, Tracy has been instrumental in shaping the company’s operational excellence model, culture, talent and long-term growth strategy,” said Chris Turner, CEO of Yum! Brands.

“Having worked alongside Tracy for several years, I’ve seen firsthand the leadership, wisdom and heart she brings to every conversation and decision,”

“Tracy has led Yum! through some of the most important moments in our history, including our transformation into a more focused, asset-light global franchisor, all while advancing enterprise capabilities, culture and talent across our global system. Her impact on Yum! will be felt for years to come,” said Turner.

Skeans’ current duties will be divided between two upcoming positions: a chief people and culture officer and a chief scale officer.

In April, with more than 65,000 restaurants globally, Yum Brands saw its groupwide revenues rise by 15 per cent to $2.05 billion in the fiscal first quarter.
