Wendy’s has named Pete Suerken as its new president to lead the chain’s operations in the US, effective immediately, succeeding Abigail Pringle.
Suerken was president and CEO of Wendy’s Quality Supply Chain Co-op – Wendy’s exclusive supply chain – for five years, after spending more than 20 years of leadership experience in the industry at several companies, including Resin Technology Inc, Archer Daniels Midland, and Yum! Brands.
He will report to Ken Cook, Wendy’s interim CEO, and lead the brand’s US business to help the company achieve its long-term strategic priorities by improving customer experiences, increasing restaurant-level profitability, and driving growth.
“The opportunity to lead the US business for Wendy’s is exciting and humbling,” said Pete Suerken.
The company looks forward to releasing its second-quarter results on August 8.
Last week, Wendy’s signed two new franchise agreements to open up to 190 restaurants in Italy and Armenia.
