Walmart has reached a milestone in its EV charging network, opening its 100th company-owned fast-charging location in Colorado, extending its coverage across 20 states.

Located in Monument, Walmart Supercenter’s charging site features high-power chargers capable of delivering up to 400kW. 

The charging stations are located near Walmart stores and operate through the company’s mobile app, which allows drivers to start and pay for their charging sessions.

Most locations in the network offer eight to 16 fast-charging stalls equipped with both CCS1 and NACS connectors, accommodating a wide range of electric vehicle models.

“By expanding EV fast charging at Walmart locations across the country, we’re providing drivers with a reliable way to charge while they shop,” said Shayne Wahlmeier, SVP of Walmart Energy. 

“Reaching 100 sites is an important milestone, and our extensive network positions us to make EV charging more accessible to communities while enhancing the ways we serve our customers,” added Wahlmeier.

“When a customer pulls into a Walmart to charge, we want the experience to be as reliable and effortless as the rest of their shopping trip,” said Adam Happel, GM of Walmart retail EV charging. “We are proud to reach 100 sites, but our focus remains on building a network that customers can depend on every time they charge with us.”

Happel emphasized that the network prioritizes operational reliability for visitors while enhancing the functional aspects of the company’s service.

Subscribers to the Walmart Plus membership program benefit from discounted charging rates, and station locations are available on digital mapping platforms, including Google Maps, Apple Maps, PlugShare, Chargehub, and Chargeway.
