US cosmetics brand Too Faced to withdraw from Japan

California-based cosmetics label Too Faced is to exit Japan after more than three years operating in the market, its operator ELC Japan announced on the brand’s website.

“We will end sales at all stores and e-commerce sites by the end of this year,” the statement said. “We will try to maintain the service until the end of sales, but we ask for your understanding that the service will end as soon as the stock runs out depending on the product.”

According to WWD Japan, Too Faced has seven stores in the country, including those in Shibuya Scramble Square and Isetan Shinjuku Main Store. The brand entered the market in September 2019.

Founded in 1998 by Jerrod Blandino and Jeremy Johnson, Too Faced was acquired by Estee Lauder Companies in 2016. The two founders departed the brand last year.
