Starbucks has acquired its UK franchise 23.5 Degrees for an undisclosed price, adding 113 locations to the company’s network in the region.

With this expansion, Starbucks expands its company-owned footprint in the UK to nearly 500.

“I want to acknowledge the important contributions of 23.5 Degrees and the dedicated green apron partners,” said Alex Rayner, GM, UK, Switzerland and Austria with Starbucks.

“This strategic move will enable us to enhance our investment in new locations, elevate our in-store experience, and drive innovation for our UK customers.”

The operator 23.5 Degrees was Starbucks’ first UK franchised business partner. It opened its first store in February 2013 and now has 110 locations in the UK (73 of which are drive-thru), with another 25 planned for the coming year.

The company aimed to reach 300 outlets by 2028.
