Furniture and housewares retail chain Bed Bath & Beyond will mark the return of its physical presence with a store opening in Tennessee next month.

The store, now named Bed Bath & Beyond Home, will open in Nashville on August 8.

This is the first store opening under the strategic partnership between The Brand House Collective, formerly Kirkland’s, and Beyond Inc. The deal was first signed last year, with several amendments announced in May.

As per the agreement, Kirkland’s would become the exclusive brick-and-mortar operator and licensee for Bed Bath & Beyond and BuyBuy Baby stores within the neighborhood format, as well as Overstock retail locations.

The new store also comes after Kirkland’s rebranded itself to The Brand House Collective as part of its transformation into a multi-brand retail operator. The plans were unveiled last month and approved by the company’s shareholders at the annual meeting last week.

“We’re proud to reintroduce one of retail’s most iconic names with the launch of Bed Bath & Beyond Home, beautifully reimagined for how families gather at home today,” said Amy Sullivan, CEO of The Brand House Collective. “This isn’t just a store, it’s a fresh start for a brand that means something special to so many families.”

For the second quarter ended June 30, Beyond Inc’s net revenues slid 29 per cent to $282 million, while its net loss went down from $42 million in the year-ago period to $19 million.
