Department store chain Lord & Taylor is set to resume operations after welcoming a new owner – Regal Brands Global.

Regal Brands recently acquired the intellectual property of Lord & Taylor, including trademarks, brand assets, and proprietary designs, for an undisclosed amount.

The new owner plans to bring back the chain’s iconic logo and provide an “innovative” e-commerce site with new products and unique shopping experiences.

Customers can expect to find Lord & Taylor licensed products on the chain’s website as well as at select retailers globally in the coming time.

“This acquisition marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter in our storied history,” said Sina Yenel, chief strategy officer at Regal Brands. “We are committed to revitalizing the brand you know and love.”

Founded in 1826, Lord & Taylor is one of the oldest department store chains in the US. The company operated full-line department stores until it filed for bankruptcy in 2020 and closed all its brick-and-mortar stores in 2021.

Saadia Group acquired the chain’s intellectual property and relaunched its e-commerce website later that year. Due to financial challenges, Saadia went into default this March, and Lord & Taylor had to cease operations as a result.
