The National Basketball Association (NBA) has opened a new location in Houston, Texas, marking its second flagship store in the US.
Athletic headwear retailer Lids will oversee the operations for the new space, as part of the league’s partnership with Lids and Fanatics. Lids is also operating other NBA flagships in New York City and London.
Covering 7500sqft, the store features official NBA and WNBA merchandise and memorabilia from major brands such as Nike, Mitchell & Ness, New Era and Wilson.
There are also a customization area for fans to personalize products, interactive window displays, and a “center court” for special product collections and events.
“Through a wide range of merchandise and interactive activations, we will deepen our ties to the Houston basketball community and find unique ways to engage our fans through a truly immersive retail experience,” said Lisa Piken Koper, head of apparel & sporting goods at NBA.
The NBA has more than 400 NBA-branded retail stores and attractions across the world, as well as an online store at NBAStore.com.
