Ikea US is planning to open four new-format stores in FY24 after concluding last year with record sales of goods and services.
The retailer has announced the launch of Plan & order points with Pick-up in Texas, the Atlanta Metropolitan area, and the greater Los Angeles market. These pick-up points allow customers to collect their purchases at their convenience.
These new format stores will increase accessibility without compromising on quality or design, and customers will also receive support from Ikea experts to plan and order home furnishing solutions, the retailer said.
In addition, Ikea is also seeking to open more of these stores in Annapolis and Gaithersburg, Maryland, Katy, and Texas among others.
“Looking ahead, we are excited about our plans for new locations and services bringing the joy of Ikea to more hearts and homes. Creating a home you love is about to get even simpler for everyone,” said Javier Quiñones, CEO & chief sustainability officer at Ikea US.
The retailer has concluded one of its “most successful years to date” with $6.3 billion in total sales.
Aside from achieving a 6.6 per cent year-on-year revenue growth, Ikea said it had reduced prices on hundreds of popular products across the entire range of all US stores as well as online.
During the year, Ikea dispersed $54.5 million to two-thirds of its US co-workers as part of a performance-based payout.
The company ended the year with 54 retail locations and 11 distribution units across the country.
