Experiential Brands, which owns The Original Hot Chicken and Flametown Burgers restaurant chains, has announced its first university locations as part of a strategic expansion into non-traditional markets.
The new locations, set to open in September and October at Auburn University, East Carolina University and the University of Tennessee, will offer students and faculty convenient access to fast-casual dining options.
The company said it aims to reach diverse consumer segments in high-traffic, non-traditional venues with the expansion to college campuses.
“Our restaurant concepts are expertly designed to fit into a space like a college campus, as a food truck, or as a stand-alone restaurant,” said Aziz Hashim, founder and CEO of Experiential Brands.
“Being a part of the on-campus community with our university partners gives students and staff the opportunity to enjoy delicious, affordable meals to curb any craving.”
Experiential Brands’ portfolio includes The Original Hot Chicken, Flametown Burgers, Inked Tacos, Pinsa Roman Pizza, and BarSocial. Each campus will have a combination of restaurants available as dining options.
In addition, the company has established an international presence with non-traditional restaurants in London and Dubai and is set to open The Original Hot Chicken in Toronto later this year.
