Dollar General debuts in Montana, completing its US continental rollout

Dollar General has opened its first store in Montana’s Columbia Falls, fulfilling the company’s objective of serving all 48 continental states.

The store revealed its plan to enter Montana in June, following the company’s establishment of its first foreign location in Mexico, and it complements its fiscal 2023 real estate goals.

Dollar General says it is building stores in Lincoln and Sanders Counties. The company intends to investigate more Treasure State areas for future locations.

“As America’s general store, we believe each new Dollar General represents positive economic impact, local job opportunities, community donations and literacy grant opportunities through the Dollar General Literacy Foundation,” said Steve Deckard, Dollar General’s executive VP of growth and emerging markets.

Dollar General stores sell meals, health and beauty products, home cleaning supplies, housewares, stationery, seasonal items, and essential clothes. The chain also carries products from American brands including Clorox, Procter & Gamble, Kimberly-Clark, Unilever, Kellogg’s, General Mills, Nabisco, Hanes, PepsiCo, and Coca-Cola.
