Damiani Group has snapped up Baume & Mercier from Richemont for an undisclosed sum.

The deal adds one of Switzerland’s oldest watchmakers to the company’s portfolio, which includes Damiani, Salvini, Bliss, and Calderoni, alongside glassmaker Venini, and multi-brand watch and jewellery distributor Rocca.

Founded in 1830, Baume & Mercier has been part of Richemont for more than three decades and is best known for its Riviera, Clifton, and Hampton collections.

Damiani said it plans to accelerate the brand’s international growth by leveraging its retail network while gradually opening mono-brand boutiques in selected global markets.

Richemont said it will continue providing operational support during the transition period as Baume & Mercier is integrated into Damiani’s business.
