CVS Pharmacy has simplified its loyalty program, rationalising tiers to ExtraCare and ExtraCare Plus membership.
The changes follow extensive research with the program’s membership base.
CVS says the simplification makes ExtraCare a two-tier membership program and will now include benefits previously offered under ExtraCare Pharmacy & Health Rewards.
With the simplified program, ExtraCare members can earn $2 ExtraBucks Rewards for every four prescriptions filled.
CVS says ExtraCare Plus, formerly CarePass, offers the same benefits under ExtraCare with the additional advantage of free same-day delivery of nearly all products within three hours. Its members can also receive a $10 monthly bonus reward.
“Now, instead of having to join various programs to unlock all the savings available to them, we’ve made it easier for our members and patients to choose from our two-tiered offerings and access the benefits that best fit their needs, including new same-day delivery and pharmacy rewards, which are now a core benefit,” said Zach Dennett, CVS Health VP of loyalty, omnichannel, and Hispanic formats.
The pharmacy chain urges its members to download the CVS Pharmacy app and opt to receive personalized deals across email, text and push notifications for more savings.
