Brinker International’s revenue up in fiscal first quarter

Restaurant operator Brinker International‘s revenue grew in the fiscal first quarter, which the company attributes to its menu pricing and favorable menu item mix.

The group’s revenue soared 12.5 per cent to $1.14 billion, while net income surged 434.7 per cent to $38.5 million.

Chili’s company sales jumped 13.5 per cent to $1.02 billion, while franchise revenue climbed 11.7 per cent to $11.5 million.

Maggiano’s Little Italy booked company sales of $108.4 million, up 4 per cent, while franchise revenue stood flat at $200,000.

For the fiscal year, the company expects revenue to be between $4.70 billion and $4.75 billion and net income per diluted share to be in the range of $5.20 to $5.50.
