BJ’s Wholesale Club intends to open 25 to 30 clubs over the next two years, including multiple clubs and gas stations in the Dallas-Fort Worth area in early 2026.
“Economic expansion and a growing population make Texas a great fit for us,” said Bob Eddy, BJ’s Wholesale Club chairman and CEO.
“We believe our unique club model, which delivers savings of up to 25 per cent off grocery store prices every day, will resonate with the families in this area.”
Other locations of the clubs are Brooksville, Florida and Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, which both opened last month. Another club opened in Southern Pines, North Carolina, this month.
The company has yet to open clubs in Whippany, New Jersey and Staten Island, New York.
Once open, each club will donate produce, meat and dairy products to a local food bank weekly.
In a separate statement, BJ’s Wholesale Club said that net income grew 2 per cent to $534.4 million as revenue increased 2.7 per cent to $20.50 billion last year.
This comes as net sales rose 2.5 per cent to $20.04 billion while membership fee income climbed 8.5 per cent to $456.5 million.
“As we look to fiscal 2025, we believe our continued focus on our strategic priorities and commitment to delivering great value will drive strong results for our business,” said Laura Felice, BJ’s Wholesale Club EVP and CFO.
“We also recognize the macro-driven uncertainties in the operating environment and as such, remain cautiously optimistic about the year.”
The company forecasts comparable club sales, excluding the impact of gasoline sales, to increase 2 per cent to 3.5 per cent from last year.
