DoorDash has posted a strong quarterly performance, reporting a surge in sales and profitability as it nears a landmark achievement: Its 10 billionth lifetime order.

In the second quarter of 2025, the delivery company reported net income of $285 million, a sharp reversal from a $157 million loss in the same period last year.

Revenue jumped 25 per cent year-over-year to $3.3 billion, fueled by growing consumer engagement, operational improvements, and the continued rise of its membership programs. Total orders climbed to 761 million, up 20 per cent year-over-year.

DoorDash credited its gains to a consistent operating strategy focused on scale, efficiency, and aggressive investment in service quality. In Q2, the company said it enhanced user personalization, added tens of thousands of new merchants, and reduced average delivery times across markets.

“We are proud of how far we have come and the work that has gone into building a platform that now serves hundreds of thousands of merchants, tens of millions of consumers, and millions of Dashers across over 30 countries every month,” DoorDash said in a statement.

“Our progress reflects our team’s innovation, operational excellence, and hard work, and we intend to continue investing to expand the scale, scope, and capabilities of our business going forward.”

In its US marketplace, growth was particularly strong in the restaurant category, with increasing DashPass adoption seen as a key driver of frequency and loyalty.

International markets outpaced domestic growth in total orders. Q2 saw a record quarter for new Wolt+ members, and international users showed consistent growth in average order frequency compared to the previous quarter.
