The Lycra Company appoints Gary Smith as CEO

Sustainable fiber producer The Lycra Company has appointed Gary Smith as CEO, effective November 27.

Smith will succeed Dean Williams, who has been Lycra’s acting CEO since August. Williams will continue his CFO role in the company.

Prior to the new appointment, Smith held CEO positions at Hatteras Yachts and Polartec. He also worked as president of the Outdoor Group at The Timberland Company.

“Gary is a proven CEO with deep brand experience and knowledge of our industry, along with a long history of successfully growing companies and creating shareholder value,” said Craig Rogerson, executive chairman at Lycra.

“We are confident that his leadership will help us accelerate our long-term growth plans.”
