Firehouse Subs seeks to attract current or former first responders and veterans to become franchisees of the restaurant brand with the launching of a new incentive program.
The company has launched the First Responders Program, which offers $100,000 upfront cash to help first responders or veterans franchise a Firehouse Subs restaurant, which costs $400000 to $500,000.
The program is part of the company’s multiyear strategy to rapidly grow its presence in the US and Canada.
“I couldn’t be more excited to announce this program, which allows us to attract a new generation of franchisees that embody the heritage and purpose of our brand,” said Mike Hancock, president at Firehouse Subs.
“We are proud to give first responders and veterans who spent their careers serving their communities this opportunity to build a meaningful business to support their families. They will be incredible ambassadors for the mission of our foundation.”
In addition, the company said that it will prioritize growth by piloting its new “operator to owner” initiative this year, providing top-performing managers and operators a pathway to ownership.
Firehouse Subs, founded by two former firefighter brothers Robin and Chris Sorensen in 1994, offers meats and cheeses and is committed to saving lives through the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation.
Firehouse Subs is now a subsidiary of Restaurant Brands International, which also owns Burger King, Tim Hortons, Popeyes, following its acquisition in 2021.
