Female sports brand Jelenew has collaborated with Chanel’s haute couture designer Christelle Kocher to launch its first curated collection.
The line, inspired by female pilot Beryl Markham’s autobiography West with the Night, incorporates Jelenew’s CurveTec technology. According to the business, this technique lowers friction while in motion while still providing adequate muscle protection and power generation.
Kocher’s collaboration with Jelenew delves into products inspired by aviation and sportswear themes, drawing deep browns, greens, and oranges from the African terrain and adding classic black, white, and grey contrasts to create a clash of materials and silhouettes.
Kocher joined Chanel as artistic director of Maison Lemarie in 2010, having previously worked with Bottega Veneta and Dries Van Noten.
Jelenew is a women’s sportswear brand dedicated to rethinking utility and aesthetics, co-founded by Marion Clignet, a former world champion with 30 years of competitive racing experience.
Jelenew offers sportswear that is both comfortable and protective, as well as an enlarged lifestyle range inspired by speed sports and suited to the diverse needs of active women.
