California Pizza Kitchen has opened two new stores in Asia- one in the Philippines, the other in South Korea.
The new quick-service restaurants are located in Manila’s Evia Mall, and Daegu Mall, in Daegu. The stores mark the 5th location in the Philippines and the seventh in South Korea as the chain looks to broaden its Asian footprint.
“This has been truly an unprecedented year due to Covid-19 headwinds,” said Giorgio Minardi, executive VP of global development & franchise operations at California Pizza Kitchen. “But these openings and future construction highlight the confidence we and our partners have in the strength of the brand and its restructuring plan.”
The chain plans to open three more international outlets, which are already under construction.
“We’re very proud to partner with Pie Co and Seoulland and expand our franchise relationships in these two markets. It takes a lot of trust, passion and strength during these times to make such an investment and these openings are a clear indication of that commitment,” Minardi added.
Founded in 1985 in Beverly Hills, California Pizza Kitchen operates more than 200 restaurants across eight countries and US territories.
