Acne Studios’ first store in Southeast Asia lands at Marina Bay Sands

Swedish fashion house Acne Studios has expanded its presence into Southeast Asia with the launch of its first brick-and-mortar store in Singapore’s The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands.

Created by the Swedish design studio Hallerod, the store design features a modular system of glass sheets, which is described as “fragile and transparent with a brutal frankness”. Furniture artworks by artist and Acne Studios’ longtime collaborator Max Lamb are displayed throughout the store, such as steel-framed glass jars filled with batik-dyed textiles and colourful single-seater pouffes.

Acne Studios Singapore is home to a full range of men’s and women’s ready-to-wear and accessories, including the brand’s SS23 collection and its exclusive Musubi bags.

Acne Studios is part of The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands’ new luxury tenant lineup unveiled last September as the city-state’s retail landscape revives. Besides the Swedish fashion label, luxury brands making their Southeast Asian debut in the centre include Buccellati and Amaffi.

Acne Studios was established in Stockholm by Jonny Johansson and produces ready-to-wear, magazines, furniture, books, and exhibitions. The brand offers men’s and women’s apparel, footwear, accessories, and denim, with a focus on tailoring, eclectic use of materials, and specially designed fabrics.
