Topgolf Callaway Brands has inked a multi-year agreement with Golf Saudi Entertainment to bring its brands to Saudi Arabia.
The deal will see three Topgolf venues built and operated by Golf Saudi by 2028, along with the potential openings of two additional locations in the future.
Callaway Golf, Odyssey, TravisMathew and Ogio will also become the official equipment and apparel brands for the Saudi men’s, women’s and junior national golf teams, as well as for professionals working at Golf Saudi facilities.
In addition, Golf Saudi will be the exclusive distributor of Callaway Golf, Odyssey and Ogio products in Saudi Arabia.
Ben Sharpe, MD and president, EMEA for Callaway Golf, said the partnership marks another market entry in the Middle East following the United Arab Emirates. Together with its new partner, the company aims to help transform Saudi Arabia into an “exceptional golfing nation”, Sharpe added.
Topgolf Callaway Brands last month reported a 1.9 per cent increase in second-quarter revenues to $1.157 billion, but its net income slid 47.1 per cent to $62 million.
The company said it was conducting a strategic review of its Topgolf division, which is described as a “high-quality business with significant future”. The options include a potential spinoff of the business.
