Cafe chain Reborn Coffee begins Southeast Asian foray with Malaysia launch

Californian specialty coffee brand Reborn Coffee has made its debut in Malaysia with the opening of a flagship store at the new Exchange TRX mall in Kuala Lumpur.

The coffee chain currently operates 14 locations in California and plans to add four new stores in California, Texas, and Missouri. It also expects to open more than 10 locations outside the US.

The Malaysia store will serve as a “launchpad” for further expansion within Malaysia and into Singapore and Indonesia, said Barrie Nasim, director of the newly incorporated Reborn Coffee Malaysia.

“Our global expansion initiatives and launch into the Southeast Asian market aligns with our brand ethos, and are anticipated to significantly augment revenue streams,” added Jay Kim, CEO of Reborn Coffee.

“Taken together with new locations in California, expansion into South Korea and the UAE, and our partnership with Hour Loop on Amazon, we are well-positioned to reach our expansion goals across a variety of channels that will enable sustained operational execution and year-over-year revenue growth.”

The Nasdaq-listed company reported revenues of US$4.2 million for the nine months ended September 30, a year-on-year increase of 75 per cent.
