Apparel retailer The Buckle has appointed Scott A Werth as SVP of stores, while reporting a significant increase in fiscal sales for the period ended April 4 this year.

As the brand’s new SVP, Werth oversees a sales organization comprising more than 7000 employees across 42 states.

A veteran of the company, Werth joined The Buckle in June 1989 and most recently served as VP of sales and strategy.

In addition to the appointment, the company has recorded an 8.2 per cent increase in total net sales to $118.0 million for the five-week period ended April 4 this year. This follows the $109.1 million in net sales reported for the same period in the previous year.

Net sales for stores open at least one year rose 7 per cent compared to the five weeks ended April 5.

Earlier, The Buckle’s long-serving retail executives were preparing for a major leadership transition, with two of its most senior and longest-tenured executives set to retire.
