Outdoor brand LL Bean has named Jared Carver and Kyle Leahy as independent directors to its board, saying the additions come at an “important time” as it advances its growth initiatives.

Carver has been CEO of Tracksmith, a Boston-based running apparel and footwear brand, since January. He was previously president and CEO of Converse.

Prior to joining LL Bean, Leahy was the former CEO of beauty brand Glossier. She also spent 10 years at Cole Haan in a series of senior leadership roles, including executive vice president of its North America division.

Shawn Gorman, chairman of the board, described both leaders as bringing deep experience in brand marketing, merchandising, retail transformation, and growth.

“Their perspectives will be valuable as we continue to grow our business, serve our customers, and steward the LL Bean brand for future generations,’ he added.

Carver and Leahy join a Board that includes LL Bean family directors, the company’s CEO Greg Elder, and veteran independent directors Matt Moellering and Lynn Kilbourne.
